On the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary promised at Fatima

Those who do not believe that the petition of Our Lady of Fatima was not answered by the Servant of God John Paul II, when he consecrated Russia and the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, on March 25, 1984, at St. Peter's Square, are either short of their trust in the mercy of God or are ignorant of the facts accomplished by this consecration. As this consecration was duly made, the Soviet Union callapsed a short time after it without the shedding of blood, Eastern Europe was opened to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Berlin Wall crushed making possible the re-unification of Germany. All of them are signs of the beginning of the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary announced at Fatima. Indeed, a terrible nuclear world war was prevented as the Cold War ceased. In the years 1986-1987 a nuclear war was close to a beginning according to secret documents made public by intelligence agencies of the West and East. All major events of the Collapse of the Soviet Union occurred on Marian Feasts days, showing the hand of Our Lady behind:

1. August 22, 1991: Feast of the Queenship of Mary: The attempt to overthrow President Mikhail Gorvachov failed. The Communist Party had sealed its fate after three days of a military take over; three days of confusion and despair in which the forces of the hard core atheistic Communists confronted the forces of grandmothers and young citizens, ending in the collpase of thier attempt.

2. December 8, 1991: Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of Mary: It was announced that the Community of Independent Sates will substitute the USSR.

3. December 25, 1991: Solemnity of the Birth of Jesus Christ, Christmas Day: The Presidents of Russia, Ukraine and Byelorussia anounced the formal dissolution of the   Soviet Union. The greatest joy in the life of Our Blessed Mother, her giving birth to her only Son, is celebrated on Nativity Day!

4. January 1, 1992: Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, principal Marian feast in the liturgical calendar: Russia emerges as an independent state, open to religious freedom, public cult and religious practices. The Soviet Union of Marxist and atheistic republics is dead. The new Community of Independent States recognizes the independence and sovereignty of the former Soviet republics.

The four major dates of the historical changes that ended an era are marked by the Marian presence, according to God's will, the Lord of History! John Paul II was a wonderful instrument in the hands of God to comply with he petitions of Our Lady of Fatima and her prophesy on the triumph of her Immaculate Heart. "The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, and she will be converted, and a period of peace will be granted to the world." (Our Lady of Fatima, July 13, 1917).

As humanity is free to accept God's will or to reject it, we must say that the triumph of the Immaculate of Mary is directly proportional to the response to grace and mercy from her children. The grace and mercy are granted but we must accept it or else we may diminish or delay the triumph promised! The triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary may be delayed or hastened, diminished or expanded, accordingly to our generosity and faith! If we do not enjoy now absolute peace in the world it is mainly because a war that should never have started, as was advised by Pope John Paul II, was carried on nevertheless. But it must be accepted that these limited wars in our world are nothing when compared to the terrible destruction of a global nuclear war that was indeed prevented!

On the contrary, we all must be thankful to the Good Lord for his great intervention in history at the end of the twentieth century, a true new Marian Lepanto (great Marian Victory that saved Christianity from the Otoman Turks that were Moslems and threatened to conquer Europe)! Peace was granted for us to accept it and work to construct it. We must collaborate with God's graces! Instead of worrying about the acts of Pope John Paul II doubting about the authenticiy of his collegial consecration of Russia and the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, we must live up our faith, hope and charity to extend the Kingdom of God on earth by making all our family members, neighbors and friends know and live the authentic message of Fatima: Meditative prayer (daily meditation of five mysteries of the Holy Rosary); sanctification of our daily duties; Consecration to God through the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Communion of Reparation of the Consecutive Five First Saturday's of the Month. If we focus on these petitons of Our Lady the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary will come in all its pristine splendor. To focus on the supposed missing technicalities not made by the consecration of Pope John Paul II is to create excuses for our own faults of collaboraton with God's grace and mercy; to ignore our own disobedience of God's will in our lives; to project our personal failure as true disciples of Christ to the Pope or the hierarchy of the Church!

Sister Lucia has served as witness and apostle to the Immaculate Heart of Mary! It is up to us and only to us to serve the Good Lord and His Catholic Church as witness and apostles for our times of confusion and turmoil. The consecration of Russia and the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary was fully accomplished by Pope John Paul II and all the Bishops of the Catholic Church (and also of the Orthodox Church) that united with him on that memorable occasion of March 25, 1984 What is still missing is our total correspondence with that grace, our absolute donation of ourselves to serve God; our dynamic action to make other people know and live the Message of Fatima in thier own lives! Let us be brave and acknowledge our own faults! After all, the world will not be saved without our own collaboration! The act of consecration to God through the Immaculate Heart of Mary is a symbol of the will of the Church and of all human beings of good will to come closer to God, to accept His laws and commandments in their own lives. There is no magic in the words of the consecration. What we must seek is that the words of the consecration will be a reality in our own lives! Then, and only then, we will experience the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in all its splendor!
